Oublier is french for "to forget." This project was based on the problem of people forgetting their necessities when leaving their house. To resolve this problem I designed a unique bag/coat hanger that also holds your essential daily items such as a wallet, phone and keys. I incorporated a pulley mechanism that uses the weight of a bag or coat to lift up a shelf. When the item is taken off the dowel hanger the shelf will automatically drop with or without your valuables on it. This creates an awareness for the user to remember to grab their essentials when taking their bag or coat. The sound of their valuables hitting the floor will alert the user. The main body is CNC routed out of pine plywood and the dowels are covered with aluminium plating using the lathe.
